Veteran Outreach Opportunities
IDOT builds partnerships with various state agencies, veteran organizations, and educational institutions to increase awareness of IDOT
career opportunities for veterans by providing initiatives designed to educate veterans regarding application process for Highway Maintainer
positions and to reduce or remove barriers on the path to employment, wherever possible.
IDOT continues to partner with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS), Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA),
Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), and other state agencies to provide fairs, information sessions, workshops, and training programs, including:
- One-Stop Veteran Fairs
- Highway Maintainer Information Sessions
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Workshops
- CDL Training Programs
